Woah that's a nice hat! A introduction.
Hey! My names Jackjak and I'm probably one of the most curious people you'll ever meet....
| Yes, it is a nice hat. |
I don't really know where to begin with how I found out that I was morbidly curious, I have an uncanny ability to remember things that noone else thinks about to near exact details whilst also conveniently forgetting someones name almost immediately after meeting them.
And that made for an interesting childhood when combined with my other habit, I ask alot of questions that nobody would really think to ask. So sprinkle these both into a mix and add a healthy dose of overactive imagination and you get... well a cake made of curiosity really.
For me walking through an area that has changed is a strange feeling, I can see the previous incantations of stores and remember key locations. Last year in fact I was reduced to tears seeing dippy in Norwich cathedral because standing underneath the great beast took me back to being a kid with my nan for the first time in the Natural History Museum and seeing a dinosaur skeleton with my own eyes. These memories stick with me for the longest time and that's what's so magical about finding hidden history in places.
When I was a kid my dad took me to Crystal Palace park to see the dinosaur statues, each time we went he'd tell me something new about the park. I guess that's where my curiosity came from, As my dad showed me around this park that had been home to monumental events throughout Britains history I began to see those moments with my imagination.
From then on I began researching into locations around that my family knew so much about, my granddad even began picking books up for me to do with the local area that he knew would help.
So that's me, I'm pretty much still as curious as ever as you'll see in my posts and hopefully we can find some new points of interest together!
(If you see me scooting through Norwich please say hi. I'm pretty friendly :) )
Love this going to follow the nerd in the pink hat x
